One of my own landscapes near home in the Western District - Victoria, Australia
inspiring art

Large scale impressionistic works. Contact me regarding commissions and to view stock on hand. I specialise in seascapes, landscapes and abstracts, loaded with light, colour and texture.

A room I now miss. My sitting room in Victoria's Western District

I’ve just completed the manuscript for my first novel, Canvas. It’s a compelling mystery and love story, blending the past and present and set in the heart of Australia’s iconic grazing country – Victoria’s western district.

Right now, it’s being edited. I will keep you posted…

One of my favourite things. Pineapples are good luck. Ceramic pineapple by Have You Met Miss Jones

Luscious collection of new homewares are on the way…I will keep you posted!

  • These are a few of my favourite things....some of my own pottery and bits of collected glass, wood. And the gorgeous Japonica in the vase -whose pretty pink blossom has just finished on the shrub. Still love the green leaf in its place. .

  • The value of a flea market find is in how much you love an object when you get it home. This little tea light holder was made by an anonymous potter somewhere, I bought it for $2, which doesn't seem quite right. But I'm going to honour whoever made this humble but pretty little piece by using it, lighting a little candle in it when the mood takes me. So that's a lovely thing I think.

  • Love the simplicity of this little antique chair I bought today. It's refreshingly honest..follow my other IG feed @australiancountryhouse!

  • Lake Hamilton, Victoria - on this fine Spring Saturday morning. Perfect walking temperature and tempo with my favourite song for the moment- In my Blood by The Veronica's. #playlist #walk #spring #springinmystep #hamilton #victoria #gettingfit
  • Little bread and butter side plates. A bit of modern Delft blue. Hand built organic shapes, porcelain with underglaze rubbing and clear glaze.
  • Just unpacking and always feel it's like Christmas - even though the things are my own. This is a little hand built porcelain jug I made in Queensland not long before we left. It's unglazed on the outside and clear glazed on the inside with a whisper of turquoise stain added.
  • The chocolate box end of the house. The coach house entry has been turned into a window in the kitchen. The stone from this section of the house has been quarried from the local lava flow from Mt Napier... Which according to my research last erupted around 35,000 years ago. The lava flow at the bottom of the property is fascinating land runs like a river from the extinct volcano for miles and miles - sometimes up to 18m wide and 10m deep
  • This the oldest section of our homestead c.1840. Sun was out yesterday and as I walked past the little French doors and ficus against the stone made me think of Provence. My husband is probably relieved I can feel that at home.
