Okay. Slight snag. I won’t be living my tagline and stamping in Italy… more like treading gingerly. I have a tear in my hip cartilege – so my mobility is a bit tender to say the least. I’m taking a deep breath and might have to have a few more italian wines on balconies than pounding too many pavements. Hopefully it will settle down with meds…but suffice to say I will be ambling not speed walking and taking a few taxis. Life would be boring without little slaps of adversity, would it not?
Our first stop is a 24 hour layover in Dubai. We’ve elected to stay in the Old Town. Having watched a program on Dubai the other night – 40% of Dubai today was desert in 2004. We all decided we wanted to try and find the middle eastern heart of the city – and someone I met recently, said the Old Town is fantastic. We’re staying at The Palace. It seems to epitomize a luxe oasis. Ooh la la. Take a look.
